A Study on the Characteristics shown in EBDT(Emotional & Behavioral Drawing Test) on the Internalization and Externalization of Elementary School Students

Abstract
This study used the Emotional & Behavioral Drawing Test (EBDT) to find how effectively the EBDT shows internalization and externalization of elementary school students. The subjects were 118 elementary school students from S city and G city. SPSS/WIN 22.0 were employed to analyze correlation, hierarchy, and hierarchical regression in the data. The study results were as follows. First, EBDT was able to predict both Externalization and Internalization of the elementary school students. Hostility shown in the drawing test caught externalization problems, and internal regression detected both internalization and externalization problems. Second, by analyzing the relation between the internalization/externalization measures and the EBDT picture cards, Internalization figures of somatization and depression could be connected with the woman card. And anxiety figures showed static correlation with the bed card and woman card. Externalization showed static correlation with knife, school bag, woman, and house cards. In particular, woman image showed the difference in externalization score depending on the subject¡¯s sex. This confirmed that the Emotional & Behavioral Drawing Test(EBDT) can detect externalization/internalization related problematic behaviors.
